Sellwood Quad 24 Attic Stairs

It is Sellwood’s vision that every new home built in New Zealand be equipped with a folding attic ladder that allows the home owner safe, easy access to the storage space in their attic.

With our ongoing drive for innovation it became apparent that we could design a stair specifically suited for our new home market. The biggest inhibiting factor facing new home builders in specifying and installing Sellwood Attic Stairs is the use of trusses at 900mm centres running perpendicular with the hallway. The opening size of most Sellwood Attic Stairs were too large to fit between these trusses and other areas in the home such as the garage or adjacent bedroom were not always available or appropriate.

The Sellwood Quad 24 (Q24) Attic Stair is a four part, folding stair that requires an opening in the ceiling of only 835mm by 650mm. Assisted by a custom designed ladder hinge that allows the bottom section to fold in underneath the third section, the Q24 can reach a stud height of 2440mm while fitting between trusses in the hallway. The stair is simple to use and comes fully assembled, ready for installation.
