Sellwood Deluxe Range

It is Sellwood’s vision that every new home built in New Zealand be equipped with a folding attic ladder that allows the home owner safe, easy access to the storage space in their attic.

The Deluxe range is designed for access to attic storage space in a domestic situation where it will receive fairly frequent use. It is also popular for access to playrooms, hobby rooms or home offices. With a deeper tread (125mm) and a gentler angle (63°), the Deluxe stairs are easier to ascend and descend, becoming more of a staircase than a ladder. Given this deeper tread, the gentle angle and the desire for an aesthetically pleasing stair, Sellwood incorporated a number of unique design features into the Deluxe stairs including sturdy plate ladder hinges and powdercoated steel work. The stairs are simple to use and come fully assembled, ready for installation.

Sellwood Deluxe 27 (D27) Attic Stairs
Most homes built in the last 50 years have a floor to ceiling height of between 2400mm to 2750mm. The Sellwood Deluxe 27 (D27) is suitable for these stud heights.

Sellwood Deluxe 31 (D31) Attic Stairs
The Sellwood Deluxe 31 has similar specifications to the D27, but can reach a floor to ceiling height of 3100mm, common to homes built in the 1920s and 1930s. It is also equipped with a second stage spring system to take the weight of the bottom two sections of the stair, as they are being unfolded and folded back up again, making for easier operation.
